If you are curious about the new WIndows 10 and can’t wait, or if it didn’t download automatic, you can do it pretty easy by yourself. You can install the free upgrade/update Microsoft Windows 10 if you got Windows 7 or 8 installed already. The installation took me 2 hours, on autopilot. I made a backup of the photos and documents, but it’s all still there, and all the programs/apps also, which is a big relief.
The start menu is back. People were really missing that when it was replaced by the app menu. So the new start menu is a hybrid of the old vertical menu and the app meny to the right. It works perfect. All the programs and applications are now called apps. The button to show all your apps can be found at the bottom of the start menu. The search function moved out from the start menu and got it’s own bottom just to the right of the start menu. Windows 10 is very userfriendly and easier to use. You will love it.
To upgrade you need Windows 7.1 or Windows 8.1 installed. Goto Windows Update on the start menu to be sure that all your updates are already installed. Now have a look at the bottom right, next to the clock, you can hover the little white and black flag there, and theis text will popup: “Get Windows 10”. Follow that guide of four clicks and you will see that you are qualified. More info available here::
You can download Windows 10 to your computer here:. You need at least 3 GB of free space but it’s better to have 5-10 GB free space, so Windows can operate smooth. There are two alternatives available there: Download Tool Now (32-bit version) och Download Tool Now (64-bit version)
To see if you got the 32 or 64 bit version of Windows installed, rightclick on the start menu and select “Properties”. You can also rightclick “My Computer” on your desktop or in the Explorer and select “Properties”. Now you will see “System type: 32 or 64-bit version of Windows 7 or 8See this picture for more info:
